About Binky
The Vehicle
The Vehicle
Binky is an ex-army ambulance based on the Land Rover Forward Control 101. The vehicle was
decomissioned in 1998 and has been in my ownership since 1999.
Although built by Land Rover, it is nothing like any traditional Land Rover as this was
a vehicle specially built for the army only.
Current State
The 101 is currently in the process of being bought upto spec so it is driveable. For the last
five years the vehicle has been used as somewhere to live for a couple of years and was then
left to the elements, sitting around doing nothing.
Besides making the vehicle drivable with most of the problems fixed, the rear of the vehicle needs to be converted into a living space and then it will be reclassified as a camper with the vehicle authority (DVLA).
